Hristo Nikov COOP is among the largest firms for confectionery and bears the name of a partisan from Samokov, who had been a confectionary worker. This is the first confectionery firm that started to produce tulumbichkas (a kind of small syrupped cake) and dry cakes. Today the company remains true to the traditions. It produces the best waffles with light cream. Its best product ever is the dry cake “Balkan” (small cake with cream between with two layers, dipped in chocolate), it is in the market since 1974. Today the famous dry cake has many varieties made by the skilled specialists in the factory. These are the dry cakes “Balkan – Elite”, “Balkan – Silver“ with white chocolate, “Medena” with bee-honey and the most recent series “Choco-Bo” in three flavours – vanilla, hazelnut and chocolate. The trade mark and the design are made in Italy. Boxes containing 12 cakes “Balkan” without chocolate are also available. There are produced in three flavours – orange cream, forest fruits cream and cocoa cream.
The confectionery of Hristo Nikov COOP has distinguished itself in the ocean of sweet products on the market. It includes over 40 types of products - cakes, baklava, revane (syrupped cakes), “Rocks” (cakes with chocolate covering) and other short lasting cakes, which are sold only in Sofia and its surroundings.
An old and well known product are the “Waffles with light cream” in four flavours – chocolate, cocoa, cappuccino and hazelnut. “Triumph”, “Yavor” and “Hemus” (with peanuts) are other types of waffles produced by “Hristo Nikov”.
Another line of products are the “Esen” biscuits. At the moment there are two types of biscuits – classic and with coffee but the variety is expected to grow soon: schpriz-biscuits without chocolate, biscuits with cream “Creamilla”, and biscuits from sand dough in flavours of orange, lemon and strawberry.
The Cooperation is using a new marketing and advertising program in order to establish a firm place on the market as a modern confectionery manufacturer. Direct supplies and direct deliveries are at the core of the new politics of the company. New products are being developed aiming new markets and greater popularity. The management of the Cooperation is looking at possibilities for expanding in foreign markets. There has been export in Romania, Turkey, Greece, Russia, Macedonia and Hungary for years.
